CCÉ

CCÉ is an international organization which promotes Ireland's traditional music, dance and language. The head office is in Dublin, Ireland, and there are branch offices in many other countries.

CCÉ is an abbreviation of the Gaelic name Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (pronounced, koltas kyoltoree eyren) which means "Association of Irish Musicians".

Established about 50 years ago in Ireland to promote traditional Irish culture, it spread to countries with large Irish immigrant populations, such as the US and Australia, and has developed into a worldwide organization.

CCÉ Japan

CCÉ's Japanese branch was established in 1991 by Eamonn O Caoimh (O'Keeffe), a musician who now lives in California, and Rieko Yamashita.

CCÉ Japan sponsors set dancing and ceili dancing lessons, and can introduce instructors for tin whistle, fiddle, harp and Gaelic. Also, because CCÉ Japan members are registered as members of the home branch, they can enjoy several privileges, including the quarterly magazine Treoir, which our branch office distributes.

CCÉ Japan provides information about events in Japan through our newsletter. We also sponsor music sessions and ceilis (dance parties) with live music.

* CCÉ Japan is now looking for Irish dance and music instructors!! If you are an instructor and are available for teaching, please contact us!!
